I’m Brian Quaife, the owner of QFit Training, a personal training studio located in Cincinnati, Ohio. I’m the father of a bright, vivacious little girl, an extremely lucky husband to an amazing woman, and buddy of a foo foo female shih tzu with a Napoleon complex. Every day, I attempt to bring a little bit of testosterone into a home filled with estrogen, but wouldn’t want it any other way.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree in informatics from IUPUI, I found myself sitting behind a desk all day working a health care tech job. While I’ve always liked helping people, it lacked the interpersonal connections which I enjoy cultivating and the static nature of the position added some size to my midsection and wreaked havoc on my posture. I was unhappy and unfulfilled. That’s when I started to explore health and fitness. I soon realized that it wasn’t just about watching calories or benching a lot of weight, it was an overall lifestyle choice, and that excited me.
Life in a cubicle was honestly my biggest health challenge, so I started to implement the knowledge I‘d gained into that sedentary lifestyle. After acquiring some accreditations and certifications it became obvious that personal training was the direction I wanted for my life and career. It grew from just getting myself into better shape into a passion to help others improve their lives. That’s when I left cubicle life for good in hopes of helping others who were facing similar health challenges.
While gaining strength and losing fat were the most physically obvious benefits, the true gains came from making healthy choices in my life. The best part being that I was still able to enjoy my love of a great steak, fine bourbon, or the occasional craft brew. I didn’t have to be dedicated to the point of insanity; it simply had to work within the balance of a healthy lifestyle. Everyone has certain limits or guilty pleasures, and I’m no different. For example, don’t expect replies to texts or emails once The Walking Dead starts on Sunday night. There are better odds of a zombie apocalypse actually happening.
In my opinion, it’s the best job in the world. I get to be active all day listen to great music all while making a positive impact on people’s lives. I do this because I truly care about my clients and want the best for them. Not just in the gym where I can personally motivate them to surpass goals but when they get home, as well. It’s fulfilling to know that the knowledge and guidance I provide might help you strive for more in your personal life. This is not just a job for me; it’s a passion stronger than anything but the love of family. My goal is that, in the course of helping you obtain the body you desire, you also come one step closer to being the best version of yourself.
